In cytotoxic T cells (CTL), Protein Kinase B /Akt is activated by the T cell antigen receptor (TCR) and the cytokine Interleukin 2 (IL2), in part by phosophorylation of Akt by Phospholipid dependent kinase 1 (PDK1).
Protein kinase B controls transcriptional programs that direct cytotoxic T cell fate but is dispensable for T cell metabolism.

View SamplesIn this study, we have explored microarray-based differential gene expression profile in mouse lung tissue 8 h after inducing polymicrobial sepsis and the effect of preprotachykinin-A (PPTA) gene deletion. A range of genes differentially expressed (> 2-fold) in microarray analysis was assessed, PPTA-knockout septic mice with their respective sham controls.
Substance P in polymicrobial sepsis: molecular fingerprint of lung injury in preprotachykinin-A-/- mice.

View SamplesRetinoid X receptor (RXR)-gamma is a nuclear receptor-type transcription factor expressed mostly in the skeletal muscle, and regulated by nutritional conditions. Previously, we established transgenic mice overexpressing RXR-gamma in the skeletal muscle (RXR-gamma mice), which showed lower blood glucose than the control mice. We used microarrays to investigate their glucose metabolism gene expression change.
Increased systemic glucose tolerance with increased muscle glucose uptake in transgenic mice overexpressing RXRγ in skeletal muscle.
